Why ‘Les Sept Saints’ (The Seven Saints)?
This is a question many of you are asking yourselves. We are located in a small, very typical hamlet called Les 7 Saints. It consists of several stone farmhouses and a chapel (the Chapel of the Seven Saints).
There is a very strange legend attached to this chapel...
It is said that a poor wife, in ancient times, gave birth to seven boys. Distraught by such a burden, she begged her maid to make six of them disappear. The young maid set off, heading for the thickest woods, but on the way, tired, she placed the precious basket on a convenient rock. When she returned to retrieve it, she could only do so with great effort, so much so that the imprint remained engraved in the stone.
Was this not a divine manifestation?
The young servant returned quickly, assured that the seven newborns were destined for an exceptional future. Seeing such a sign, the father and mother redoubled their efforts to raise such a large family. Their sacrifices were not in vain. After a solid education in the veneration of God, the seven brothers founded the bishoprics of Brittany.
